What is the “Vampire Facial”?

July 2, 2019

You may have seen this facial on Hollywood’s most infamous celebrity, Kim Kardashian. It is called the PRP facial or more commonly referred to as the “Vampire Facial”. This facial is coined the “Vampire Facial” because it involves using your own blood.

To start, your board certified dermatologist will draw blood and put it in a centrifuge. The centrifuge spins the blood to separate the platelet rich plasma from the red and white blood cells. This platelet rich plasma is then injected into your face. You can also have the PRP applied topically and then followed with a microneedling treatment.

What are the benefits of PRP? It helps to achieve a more glowing, plumped and youthful appearance. It has been proven that platelet rich plasma supports collagen production. Adding the platelet rich plasma aspect to your microneedling treatment helps the platelets to deeply penetrate the skin and provide optimal results. PRP facials can diminish the look of wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, acne scars, brown spots and improve the tone and texture of your skin.

The “Vampire Facial” is now available at our Wesley Chapel and Brandon offices. Schedule your appointment with us today at 813.406.4835, and be on your way to the skin of your dreams.
